Refunds
  • Refunds are available until February 29, 2012.
  • To request a refund please send an email to registrar@NewtonGirlsSoftball.orgPlease do not contact Wufoo, our online payment service provider. They only processes our online registrations.  They cannot answer your questions or pass them along to us.
  • No refunds will be made after February 29, 2012, with the exception of middle school players who choose to opt out of NGSoftball due to selection for their middle school team.  In this case, the league must be notified by April 15 via email to registrar@NewtonGirlsSoftball.org.
Player (and Coach) Pairing
  • If two girls would like to play on the same team each must list the name of the other girl on their application AND both applications must be received by March 1, 2012.
  • If sisters would like to play on the same team they must select each other.  They may not also select an additional player.
  • If coaches want to be guaranteed that they will coach together, their children must pair-up with each other.
  • You can make a last minute "pair-me-with" request or change by sending an email to Doug Clott on or before March 1. PLEASE no phone calls.
  • Sorry, no exceptions!
Team Selection
  • Teams generally have players from 3 to 5 schools.
  • We make every effort to place a player who does not request a "pair-me-with" with at least one player from her school, so every player should know someone on her team.
  • Requests for certain coaches or teams are not allowed.
  • Players in grades 1 through 6 will be contacted by their coaches BEFORE the first indoor April clinic at NNHS.
  • Team rosters for grades 7 through 10 will be created after middle school teams are selected, usually the last week in April.
Practices

Practice day(s) and locations are determined by the coaches with input from their players after rosters are distributed.

Attendance

Softball is a team sport and part of being a good teammate is attendance. Therefore we except players to attend at least 75% of their games and practices.  If you are considering another activity that also requires your attendance on one of your game days, please be fair to yourself and others by selecting only one activity this spring.

Sweatshirts and Gloves

Pickup will be at the second indoor Player Clinic at NNHS.

If you have any questions regarding out policies please click Policies and Guidelines or FAQ's for more details.

Registration Process after February 29, 2012

  1. Only completed on-line registrations, including the $15 late fee (one per family), will be accepted.
  2. Order of acceptance is determined by the on-line date.
  3. Our home page will display the number of "current" openings available for each grade. This information is updated frequently.
  4. We make every effort to find a team for each girl who would like to play and who registers before teams are created. You will receive a full refund should we run out of spaces after receiving your payment.
  5. After teams are created and distributed there may still be hope. Grades 1-6 team rosters are distributed mid-March depending upon the grade. We will not begin processing a new player registration until we have received her completed registration form and payment. We will not deposit the payment until your daughter is placed on a team and you are comfortable with the selection. Please note: You may not request a specific team.
  6. Once a team is full we will not add a player to it. We will accept a wait list registration in the event an assigned player chooses to opt out.

Please do not ask us to make an exception to our rules
. We are parent volunteers doing our best to provide an equal and "fair" playing field for 500 Newton families. While there may be an individual situation that could benefit from a more flexible system, it has been our experience that sticking to our rules works best for our league.
